Overview: Dougga is an ancient Roman city located in northern Tunisia. It is considered one of the best-preserved Roman cities in North Africa and is known for its well-preserved buildings, including temples, theaters, and public baths. The site is also home to several ancient tombs and a number of impressive mosaics.

Theater of Dougga: One of the best-preserved Roman theaters in North Africa, with seating for up to 3,500 people.
Capitol of Dougga: A complex of three temples dedicated to the Roman gods Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, dating from the 2nd century AD.
Public Baths: An impressive complex of baths, including hot and cold rooms, changing rooms, and a large swimming pool.
Mosaics: Dougga is home to a number of impressive mosaics, including the famous "Three Graces" mosaic.
History: Dougga was founded in the 4th century BC by the Berbers and was later conquered by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. The city reached its peak during the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD and remained an important center of Roman culture until the 5th century AD. After the fall of the Roman Empire, Dougga was gradually abandoned and eventually fell into ruin.
Fun Fact: The ancient city of Dougga was featured in the opening scene of the 2000 film "Gladiator".

How to Reach It: Dougga is located about 100 kilometers southwest of Tunis and can be reached by car or taxi. It is also possible to take a bus from Tunis to the nearby town of Teboursouk and then take a taxi to Dougga.
Where to Stay: There are several hotels and guesthouses in the nearby town of Teboursouk, as well as a few hotels and resorts in the city of Tunis.
