Overview: The Semmering Railway is a historic railway line in Austria, connecting Gloggnitz and Semmering via the Semmering Pass. It was completed in 1854 and is widely regarded as a masterpiece of civil engineering and a significant achievement of 19th-century railway construction. In recognition of its importance, the Semmering Railway was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1998.

How to Reach It: The Semmering Railway is located in southeastern Austria, approximately 100 km south of Vienna. It can be reached by car, train, or bus. If traveling by car, take the A2 motorway to the Semmering exit and follow the signs to the railway stations.
If traveling by train or bus, take the train or bus to Gloggnitz or Semmering, both of which are served by regular trains and buses from Vienna. From there, it's easy to catch a train on the Semmering Railway.
